Waterproofing Agent For Buildings And Stoneware Products - Potassium Methyl Silicate

Waterproofing Agent For Buildings And Stoneware Products - Potassium Methyl Silicate
CAS No.:31795-24-1
First, product features:

This product is permeable, absorbable, and can maintain the natural appearance of the substrate. It can react with CO2 or other acidic compounds in the air to form an insoluble mesh waterproof and breathable film on the surface of the substrate. It has excellent waterproof effect and the advantages of anti-seepage, moisture-proof, rust-proof, anti-aging, and anti-pollution, preventing moisture from being absorbed into the substrate, thereby reducing the peeling caused by freezing and thawing and weathering, and increasing the life of the substrate. This product is simple to construct, low in cost, long-lasting, resistant to scrubbing, and resistant to high and low temperatures (-50~150℃).
Second, physical and chemical indicators
Active ingredient: potassium methyl silicate
Appearance: colorless liquid
Solid content: 40%-52%
Active matter: 23%-30%
Specific gravity (25℃): 1.28-1.4
PH value: 13-14
Flammability: non-flammable
Third, scope of use
This product is mainly used for surface treatment of stone, bricks and tiles, ceramics, concrete, cement mortar, perlite, gypsum and gypsum board, wood, etc., and can also be used as an additive for water glass.
Fourth, how to use:
1. Clean the surface of the substrate before use. If there are cracks, fill them with putty or cement slurry. The surface of the substrate should be flat and solid, and there should be no hollowing, looseness, etc.
2. Before construction, slightly moisten the surface of the substrate for absorption.
3. Dilute to 3% or lower concentration when using. If you need to use a concentration higher than 3%, you must first conduct experimental verification. Using a high concentration will cause white residue to form on the waterproof surface.
4. You can use rags, sponges, brushes, rollers and sealed spray guns for construction by soaking, spraying or brushing. It can also be mixed with concrete for use.
5. After brushing, let the treated surface dry naturally, and brush it a second time before the surface is dry. If used for protective treatment of stone and tile surfaces, wipe off excess liquid with a soft cloth before the surface is dry after construction, and maintain it without water for at least 24 hours.
Fifth, precautions:
1. Before use, conduct a small sample concentration test to determine whether the concentration is suitable for your specific purpose.
2. This product is extremely corrosive and is strictly prohibited from direct contact with the skin. If it is accidentally contacted, please rinse with water immediately. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with water immediately for 15 minutes and seek medical attention in time. This product will also damage or kill plants, stain or corrode glass, plastic, aluminum and most metals. Be particularly careful when spraying, and avoid nearby plants or objects with waterproofing agents. When used for home decoration, keep it away from children. However, the alkalinity of this product disappears after the surface is dried, and it is harmless to the human body.
3. If the waterproofing agent is prepared too high or used too much, a small amount of white precipitate will form on the surface after drying. If it is not cleaned by washing with water or wiping, it is necessary to scrape the surface to remove it.
4. In winter, if the temperature is too low, the product will produce a frozen crystal structure. When heated to room temperature, the solution will return to transparency, the active ingredients of the product will not be destroyed, and it can continue to be used.
5. It is recommended to wear protective gloves and goggles during construction, avoid inhaling the mist generated by the product during outdoor construction, and it is recommended to perform local exhaust when spraying or fogging in a closed environment.
Sixth, packaging, storage and shelf life:
This product is packaged in 200L, 1000L plastic barrels.
This product is not dangerous, but due to its strong alkalinity, it should be properly transported and stored.
Stored in a sealed container at 25℃ or below, the shelf life is 12 months.
